Palestine Resistance Blocks U.S./Israeli Efforts in Northern Gaza and Rafah

Israel forces displaced people out of shelters in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, December 4, 2024

The focus of the U.S./Israeli genocide has recently been on the complete destruction of northern Gaza and forcing everyone to evacuate. This is part of their plan to seize territory for Israel. However, Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas, continues to organize resistance, as seen in recent reports and videos. The Brigades continue to carry out ambushes, blow up Israeli tanks and hit targets with explosive devices in the Satwafi Junction, west of Jabaliya camp, in the northern Gaza Strip.

As part of showing their defiance, Al-Qassam Brigades released a video showing three fighters burying an explosive device in the sand, and then one of them lies opposite it. This allows the fighter to ignite the device when it will be most effective against the Israeli troops. In the following scene a Merkava tank is hit with the usual precision, then another, then a house is blown up with Israeli soldiers inside.

Israel began this latest invasion of northern Gaza two months ago, following the blueprint of what the Zionists call the General's Plan. The plan, however, has been derailed by Al-Qassam Brigades and local youth who continue to demolish any Israeli hope of ever controlling the rebellious Strip.

In Rafah, even though Israel said it had destroyed Al-Qassam's Rafah Brigade, recent videos document complex operations that contradict Israel's claims. Al-Qassam Brigades released a video of an ambush against Israeli occupation forces in the vicinity of Burj Awad in the Jeniena neighborhood east of Rafah in the southern Strip.

The video shows the degree of control of the Resistance in southern Gaza as they execute an elaborate operation involving the targeting of a gathering of Israeli soldiers, an Israeli military engineering vehicle, a D9 military bulldozer, and clashes with Israeli soldiers from a short distance.

The second operation, like the first, was named "Avenging the Blood of Sinwar," the Hamas leader who was killed on the battlefield on October 16. An interesting aspect of the video is the fact that the fighters had prior knowledge of the Israeli advance and commanders were able to communicate the information to the fighters on the field.

The video ended with the phrase "Coming soon, the third ambush."

Below are some of the latest statements by the main Resistance forces in Gaza, communicated via their Telegram channels.

Al-Qassam Brigades (Hamas)

"Al-Qassam Brigades targets a Zionist personnel carrier with an Al-Yassin 105 shell near Tamraz station in the middle of Jabalia camp, northern Gaza Strip.

"After returning from the battle lines, our fighters confirmed that they targeted two Zionist Merkava 4 tanks with an Al-Yassin 105 shell and a Shuath explosive device at the Radi intersection in the center of Beit Lahia, northern Gaza Strip.

"Our fighters confirmed that they targeted a Zionist Merkava-4 tank with a Shuath explosive device in the vicinity of Al-Tawbah Mosque, west of Jabalia camp, in the north of the Gaza Strip.

"Al-Qassam fighters sniped a Zionist soldier near the Zammo roundabout east of Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip.

"Al-Qassam fighters in Tubas in the northern West Bank clash with Zionist enemy forces using machine guns near the Turkish Hospital and the Salhab area north of the city."

Al-Quds Brigades (Islamic Jihad)

"We targeted a position of Zionist soldiers on the supply line in the Netzarim axis with mortar shells.

"Our fighters successfully sniped a Zionist soldier near the energy area east of Gaza City."

Saraya Al-Quds broadcast scenes of its fighters, in cooperation with the Mujahideen Brigades and the Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, bombing enemy gatherings in the "Netzarim" axis and targeting artillery positions in the Zionist "Fajjah" military site.

Impact of U.S./Israeli Genocide on 50,000 Pregnant Women as Gaza's Hospitals Destroyed

Demonstration of health care workers in Melbourne, Australia, December 3, 2024

A main aim of the U.S./Israeli genocide in Palestine is to target women and children, the next generation. Whole families and communities are being wiped out, as Israel repeatedly bombs residential areas, refugee camps and hospitals. One after another, most hospitals have now been destroyed or left inoperable, 34 so far. The five remaining hospitals have lost 75 per cent of their capacity amid unrelenting U.S./Israeli bombing and raids which have destroyed ambulances, forced evacuation of doctors and health care workers, and blocked delivery of needed fuel for generators.

Doctors are working with a severe shortage of medicines that prevents them from treating thousands of patients. In many hospitals surgical departments have been forced to stop operating. Doctors have called for the immediate evacuation of 25,000 patients to hospitals in East Jerusalem or elsewhere.

The UN Population Fund (UNFPA) has warned that "50,000 pregnant women are in danger," with 4,000 deliveries expected in December alone. The UNFPA said that in addition to "weakened immune systems" and the risk of contracting waterborne diseases, pregnant and breastfeeding women "must also survive alongside piles of rubbish and sewage and with barely any access to health care." UNFPA also reported that in the last six months there has been a sharp rise in reported miscarriages.

Starvation is another weapon of genocide aimed at women and children. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) reports that Israel prevented 82 out of 91 attempts by the UN to deliver aid to the besieged northern Gaza Strip between October 6 and November 25. It also denied nine other requests for life-saving humanitarian assistance for three other areas in Gaza.

Millions have been displaced from their homes with about 80 per cent of the people of Gaza impacted by Israeli evacuation orders, commonly forced to evacuate to locations that are not safe and even deadly. They are not only exposed to bombings but also repeatedly deprived of essential services. On December 3, another Israeli evacuation order was issued in Khan Younis, impacting more than 2,000 people, the fourth evacuation order for this area since July. For two months, northern Gaza has been under intense bombardment and a siege that leaves 65,000 to 75,000 people without regular access to food, water, electricity, or reliable health care. Mass casualties of civilians continue. Yet, despite everything, the Resistance persists and the people remain defiant.

Confederation Building in Ottawa Occupied to Demand Arms Embargo Now

More than 100 Canadian Jews and their allies organized a sit-in at the Confederation Building in Ottawa, which houses the offices of many members of Parliament. They demanded an end to Canada's complicity in genocide in Gaza and an immediate arms embargo. Canadian monopolies export weapons and military parts to the United States, which are then supplied to Israel. The U.S./Zionist warplanes and attack helicopters could not fly without hundreds of Canadian-made components. Protesters made clear that the destruction raining down on the people of Gaza is done with support of the Canadian government and must end. They demanded a two-way arms embargo on Israel and the cancellation of all active military export permits to Israel.

The occupation of the building lasted about two hours. Police removed people from the building and protesters then continued demonstrating outside.

Jews Say No to Genocide, a coalition of several organizations, was the main organizer. Like many across Canada and the U.S. their stand is that the genocide in Gaza is Not in Our Name and that they stand firm for Palestinian liberation.

Yemen Strikes U.S. Destroyer, Escalates Operations in Support of Palestine

Yemeni Armed Forces' spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree

Yemen has continued its support for Palestine by targeting U.S. ships and others assisting Israel. On December 1, the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) announced an operation against one U.S. destroyer and three U.S. supply ships in the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Aden. The actions support the resistance in Palestine and are also part of opposing U.S. aggression against Yemen.

Spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree confirmed in a statement that the Stena Impeccable, Maersk Saratoga, and Liberty Grace ships, U.S.-flagged ships being escorted by U.S. Navy vessels including a destroyer, were targeted in a top-tier military operation carried out by the YAF's missile and drone forces. According to the statement, 16 ballistic missiles, one cruise missile, and one drone were used to carry out the multifaceted operation, achieving precise hits.

Saree said the YAF will continue escalating its military operations against the U.S. and ships associated with Israel. Together with the Ansarallah movement, the YAF will prevent ships from passing through the Arabian Sea, Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and as far as the Indian Ocean.

Earlier, the missile force of the YAF also carried out a successful operation targeting a vital military site in the occupied Yafa region using a hypersonic missile of the Palestine 2 type.

Following these successes, in the space of 48 hours the Ansarallah movement, in coordination with the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, conducted three military operations against Israeli targets. Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced the actions on December 3.

According to Saree, two of the operations deployed multiple drones to strike Israeli positions in northern Israel, while the third targeted a strategic site in the Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat) region in southern Israel, also using drones. He confirmed that all three operations achieved their intended objectives.

The December actions follow similar success in November. The leader of the Yemeni Ansarallah movement, Abdulmalik al-Houthi, in a televised speech November 21, reiterated Yemen's unwavering support for the resistance in Palestine. He spoke of the continuing maritime actions and Yemen's resistance, saying "Yemen has challenged America with its warships and fleets at sea after it declared aggression against us, and Yemen has stood firm and never retreated from its position." He added, "Yemen targeted America's aircraft carriers, which terrorize many countries, regimes, and governments, using them to intimidate those who compete with it internationally."

He confirmed several operations done in defiance of the United States and Israel. "Yemen targeted the aircraft carriers, starting with the USS Eisenhower, which fled the Red Sea defeated, humiliated, and expelled," he said. Following the retreat of the USS Eisenhower, he emphasized, "the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln is now fleeing from the Arabian Sea after coming under attack, and the decision was made for it to return to where it came from and escape."

The Yemeni leader also condemned the U.S. for using its veto power against UN resolutions, saying it reflects U.S. "barbarism, brutality, and complicity in the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon." Al-Houthi noted U.S. genocide and support for Israel is unsurprising given its long history of criminal acts, from the persecution of Native Americans to its nuclear bombing of Japan, and wars against Iraq and Afghanistan. "America is the one who talks the most about peace, and yet it is the one who commits the most crimes and wars of extermination in the world and is the occupation's partner in crime," he stated.

Al-Houthi also highlighted that "the person Trump appointed as his ambassador to the Israeli enemy does not believe in the existence of the West Bank or Gaza."

He concluded by commending the Resistance in Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen, noting that these fighters "have chosen the right and wise path." The Resistance is conducting actions that are "heroic, significant, and honourable," and will continue to do so.
