Accusations of Russian War Crimes in Bucha
The Need for a New Coherence on the Basis of Which the Peoples Can Turn Things Around in Their Favour
A serious issue facing Canadians is what to do when the government and official media and pundits champion the cause against fake news but are themselves the greatest conveyors of fake news, defamation, lies and disinformation. To properly appreciate the problem one needs to see that the success of their enterprise is based on inciting passions fueled by prejudices they have created. Their aim is to make sure nobody even questions what is being said. It must be accepted holus bolus to the extent that all inquiry is rejected out of hand.
In the case of unfolding events in Ukraine, since the Maidan coup d’état in 2014, in which Canada was a major participant, the neo-Nazi forces which were put into positions of influence have committed untold crimes against the Russian-speaking peoples in the Donbass. Official circles in the U.S. and Canada accused Russia of being an aggressor. They spearheaded hatred against the person of Vladimir Putin who they have portrayed as evil, capable of any monstrous crimes. They have compared him to Hitler and the special military operation Russia engaged to defend the people of the Donbass and secure its own borders to a Hitlerite aggression. This is after seven years in which the European Union did nothing to rein in the neo-Nazis committing crimes there and refused to enforce the Minsk Agreements. On the basis of this narrative, the U.S./NATO forces have staged evidence of war crimes and blamed Russia. It is all for purposes of soliciting a visceral reaction to justify prolonging the war.
It is all engineered in the best tradition of yellow journalism which fabricates or stages an event and creates an image to make the public angry about the event. It is not to show what actually happened but to achieve a hidden result, such as the U.S./NATO war aims. While today it is neo-Nazi forces which fabricate and stage the events, it is all led by the intelligence agencies of U.S./NATO governments and organizations. The highest echelons of power in the United States, with which Canada is marching in lockstep, have been taken over by the same forces which promote and train the neo-Nazis as freedom fighters.
Evidence of how the story is set up can be seen in the remarks of the newly appointed U.S. “Ambassador-at-Large for Global Criminal Justice,” Beth Van Schaack on March 23, on the eve of the Extraordinary NATO Summit of heads of state. She stated that “Earlier today, Secretary Blinken issued a statement announcing that, based on information that is currently available, the U.S. Government assesses that Russia’s forces are committing war crimes in Ukraine.”
Based on the modus operandi of the U.S./NATO forces who are known to have used neo-Nazi mercenaries, private contractors and special forces in their wars of aggression, regime change and occupation, there are grounds to suspect they themselves staged the atrocities in Bucha, the suburb of Kyiv, to accuse the Russians of war crimes. The rational demand would be to call for a forensic investigation by competent international bodies not under the control of the U.S./ NATO forces which are providing what appears to be staged evidence. There needs to be a fact-based investigation in order to draw warranted conclusions, not the kind of yellow journalism which is designed to incite passions so as to hide the real agenda.
It underscores the need for a new coherence, both ideological and theoretical as well as organizational and practical, on the basis of which arrangements suitable to the needs of the times can be brought into being. The current climate of visceral hatred for which the U.S./NATO forces are responsible, Canada second to none, is fueling war hysteria to a level unseen since World War II. At that time these same forces conciliated with and appeased the Hitlerite aim to conquer the world by destroying first the countries of eastern Europe with the aim of wiping out and taking over the Soviet Union and, in the course of it, started a conflagration of world proportions, committing untold crimes all over Europe and, along with the axis powers, in Africa and Asia as well.
To believe that the peoples of the U.S. Canada, Europe and the world will accommodate themselves to not having a voice at this time is to leave them out of the equation so that they can play no role in sorting out the problems in their favour. But the peoples are far from silent. The takeover of their countries by the neo-liberal forces whose mission is to dominate the world is a burden they and their societies cannot sustain. The peoples are speaking in their own names by fighting for their rights and the claims they are entitled to make on society.
What is certain is that the Russian people and peoples of the former Soviet Republics, as well as of eastern Europe and all of Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania, Latin America and the Caribbean as well as the United States and Canada, are fighting for the affirmation of the rights of all and they will prevail. By fighting to humanize the social and natural environments, a new coherence will be brought in where human beings put themselves at centre stage.
The crimes we are witnessing the U.S./NATO forces commit today are so egregious it is no surprise they prompt a visceral response. But once people speak out and the evidence is revealed of who is committing these crimes, the peoples can turn things around in their favour. Such crimes cannot be covered up and those committing them cannot cover themselves and their nefarious aims up for long either. It is true that the most reactionary forces have seized the positions of power and privilege in the U.S., Canada and Europe and that they control powerful instruments of disinformation and all kinds of weapons of mass destruction, but the future does not lie with them. It lies in the hands of the peoples of the world. They will prevail because they must prevail to save humankind from the forces of darkest reaction which have seized hold of the reins of power in the U.S., Canada and European countries.
All Out to Make Canada a Force for Peace, Not U.S./NATO War!
