11th Anniversary of Foreign Instigated Civil War in Syria
– March 15, 2011
Statement of Syrian Foreign Ministry
This month marks the 11th anniversary of the crisis of the “beginning of the terrorist aggression supported by the U.S. and its allies against Syria, whose objective was to obstruct the cultural, economic and social revival of Syria and destroy its achievements and infrastructure, as well as the shedding of the blood of a great number of young Syrians defending their dignity, sovereignty and unity,” the Syrian Foreign Ministry recalled in a statement issued on March 16.
The Foreign Ministry adds that it considers the entire joint undertaking of these countries against Syria to have failed, while the Syrian Army continues to make gains against terrorists.
The brutal policies of the U.S. and its allies practiced in Syria in recent years in support of terrorism, demonstrate their responsibility for the destruction of the country and undermining its stability.
Thus, the Syrian Foreign Ministry holds the U.S. and its allies to account for seeking to “dominate the world’s resources,” which is well reflected in his interference in the current crisis in Ukraine.
Warning of the devastating consequences of the war, the Syrian government of President Bashar al-Assad, demands that the U.S. and its allies take their hands off Syrian territory so that Syrians can return to live in peace.
Syria denounces that the conflict was planned in advance by the U.S. and its allies and that the imposition of unilateral coercive economic measures is part of persistent measures by these hostile countries to achieve their political goals.
Furthermore, the U.S. and its allies have been responsible for the deaths of large numbers of civilians in Syria, as these nations themselves have admitted.
