End the U.S. Blockade of Cuba, Universally Condemned for More than 30 Years
On Wednesday, November 1, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) will consider for the 31st time the agenda item entitled “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.” Member states will vote on the resolution on Thursday, November 2.
As it has every year since 1992, Cuba will present its updated report on UNGA Resolution 75/289 entitled “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.” At the 30th vote on November 3, 2022, 185 member states voted in favour of the resolution. The United States and Israel opposed the resolution, while Brazil and Ukraine abstained.
