Blinken Not Welcome in Canada!
Canada, United States, Hands Off Haiti!
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Canada on Thursday October 27 for a two-day official visit. He spent Thursday in Ottawa and Friday he is in Montreal. A main aim of the visit is to cajole Canada to lead “an international intervention force” in Haiti to control what Canada and the U.S. call armed gangs which are said to be the cause of all the problems in Haiti.
The Haitian people are portrayed in racist terms as unfit to govern themselves while the theft, exploitation, sexual and other violence of the foreign occupiers hiding behind the UN flag and humanitarian missions is ignored.
Canada is said to be reluctant and thinks it is sufficient to send weapons and equipment to arm the police forces and RCMP to train Haitian police. Blinken’s deputy, Brian Nichols, is quoted as saying, “There are a number of countries that could lead this mission, with Canada at the top of the list.”
The fact that the U.S. is the decision-maker as to who heads the invading foreign forces says everything Canadians need to know about the overall aim of Blinken’s official visit. Global Affairs Canada says it is to strengthen “the already strong Canada-U.S. relationship at a time when the rules-based international order and democracy are at risk.”
Topics Blinken wants to address are “the crisis in Haiti, the situation in Iran, the Arctic, the Indo-Pacific region and the continued collaboration of both countries to hold Russia accountable for its illegal invasion of Ukraine.”
The Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist) has joined forces with the Haitian diaspora in Canada and the United States and the Haitian people themselves in opposing any further foreign intervention and use of force to interfere in Haiti’s affairs. No to Canada heading or participating in an invasion force! Condemn the vassal-like enthusiasm of Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mélanie Joly who stated: “Secretary Blinken’s visit gives Canada the opportunity to re-emphasize the importance of close cooperation between the two countries on the world stage, including in the Indo-Pacific region.”
