Eurocentric Racist Treatment of Foreigners
The racism of the official circles and their monopoly-owned media in the U.S. and Canada comes out when they describe Ukrainians as European and civilized and worthy of support but do not defend Asians, Arabs, Africans or people from Latin America and the Caribbean who are not white. Amid a deluge of reports and footage of racial discrimination in Ukraine, the Nigerian government has condemned the treatment of thousands of its students and citizens fleeing the war and being denied entry into Poland. The African Union (AU) has condemned this blatant racism of the Ukrainian and Polish authorities.
Some news channels have nonetheless reported the mistreatment of Brown and Black students by Ukrainian and Polish authorities who are allowing Europeans to cross borders while brutalizing others. An Indian student sent an SOS which read:
“We took a lot of risks to reach here and 1,000 plus Indians are stuck in the railway station. We are waiting for the trains. They (Ukrainian guards) are firing, they are kicking us. They are not letting us enter. I heard the gunfire myself. I want to tell the Indian government, if something happens to us here, please take care of our family.”
Sikhs in Kyiv and other cities have been sharing photos of Langars (kitchens) they have organized to feed the people. Meanwhile Indian monopolies are jacking up prices of essential commodities in India to maximize their profits using the pretext of the war in Ukraine.
