The organizers write: “This month’s picket coincides with the November 15 orchestrated provocations against Cuba by the U.S., its anti-Cuban agencies, as well as certain Canadian media. These provocations are planned to take place on the same day that Cuba reopens its tourist industry, a key to its recovery from the economic crisis that has gripped the world during the COVID-19 pandemic. The sole aim of this campaign of destabilization and subversion against the sovereign government of Cuba is to bring about so-called ‘regime change.’ It is a blatant and unconscionable violation of the right of self-determination of the Cuban people.
“It is therefore of utmost importance that we go all to say loud and clear that we reject these unwarranted, renewed attacks against Cuba, express our unwavering support for the Cuban people and reiterate our stand of defending and building genuine friendship with the Cuban people, relations based on mutual respect, equality, and recognition of Cuba’s right to self-determination and sovereignty. No to the renewed provocations against Cuba! No to the U.S. blockade! Oppose foreign interference in Cuban affairs! Defend Cuba’s right to chart out its own destiny!”
