On the occasion of the birthday of President Hugo Chavez, historic leader of Venezuela’s Bolivarian Revolution, ALBA Social Movements-Canada is organizing a Zoom meeting to discuss his life and work.
Speakers
Carlos Ron, Vice-Minister for North America of the People’s Power for Foreign Relations of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
Nino Pagliccia, an activist and writer based in Vancouver. He is a retired researcher from the University of British Columbia. He is a Venezuelan-Canadian who follows and writes about international relations with a focus on the Americas. He is the editor of the book “Cuba Solidarity in Canada — Five Decades of People-to-People Foreign Relations.” He has been published in several progressive online outlets including Global Research, People’s Voice, Counterpunch and Venezuelanalysis.com.
Alison Bodine is the coordinator of the Fire This Time Venezuela Solidarity Campaign and author of the book “Revolution and Counter-Revolution in Venezuela” (Battle of Ideas Press, 2018). Alison has travelled to Venezuela four times on various political delegations.
The speakers will be followed by questions and comments. Participants are invited to limit their interventions to three minutes to allow for wide participation.
