Another Israeli Video Provides Shocking Scenes of
Prisoner Abuse in Israeli Prison

All Out to Demand Liberation of All Palestinian Detainees and Political Prisoners!

The Israeli army has arrested thousands of Palestinians from different areas across the Gaza Strip and also the West Bank but refuses to give an exact number of arrests or of who it has detained and their status.

The Zionists' arrests are illegal because the raids and detentions are carried out by an illegal occupying force which, in addition, violates all international standards on the treatment of prisoners. There is abundant evidence which shows that the treatment of those in detention includes torture, starvation and all-round abuse of the most depraved kinds. Israel claims that this treatment is warranted because the prisoners are less than human and plotting operations against them. These are themselves unacceptable arguments which no court which upholds rule of law to benefit a people can find acceptable. The Israelis themselves air videos which show them abusing their power in the most depraved fashion and boasting about it.

On Wednesday, October 9, the Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas once again vehemently condemned "shocking scenes" of Palestinian detainees being rounded up and assaulted at the Ofer prison under the direct supervision of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. This was revealed in a video from Israel's Channel 13 proudly circulated by the Zionists, including on the Israeli "Security Minister's" X account.

Hamas said, "They are a visual confirmation of the tragic conditions our prisoners endure inside these prisons" which show "the true criminal face of this Nazi occupier."

"What our prisoners are subjected to, including oppression, abuse, deprivation, and medical neglect -– up to the announcement of their martyrdom -– constitutes war crimes and clear violations of all conventions and laws concerning prisoners of war. These actions demonstrate how this occupation shirks any ethics or human values," the statement said.

São Paulo, Brazil, September 30, 2024

On Monday, October 7, the anniversary of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the Zionists conducted a pre-dawn raid on the Ofer prison in which police officers used stun grenades and dogs. All of it is captured by video footage shared by the "Security Minister" Ben-Gvir on X. Detainees are seen handcuffed and being violently moved around inside the prison, and several are seen laying face down on the ground with their hands tied behind their backs.

"With zero tolerance and a heavy hand -– this is how the prison fighters work with the animals of prey from the Nukhba terrorists. I back them up!" Ben-Gvir said alongside the footage. This is how the Israeli Zionists refers to resistance fighters. Ben-Gvir claimed the detainees, whom he called "human scum," were "planning to riot inside the prison to mark the anniversary" of the October 7, 2023 resistance operation. According to the Zionists, this merits such brutal and inhuman treatment, reminiscent of what the U.S. soldiers carried out in Abu Ghraib in Iraq and other black holes and torture chambers during their "War on Terror." Their attempts to humiliate those who resisted their invasion earned the U.S. the contempt of the world's people and showed that the U.S. regime and its appendages are inherently racist, anti-human, filled with feelings of revenge, cowardice, arrogance and  impunity.

As criminal as the abuse itself, comparable to the conduct of the Nazis in World War II, is the permission given to the Zionist entity to carry out the detention of thousands of Palestinians and treat them in this manner. It is far more that an intolerable violation of human rights and all the conventions which comprise international rule of law. It is a condemnation of an international system which gives free rein to the U.S. imperialists to act with impunity, with countries like Canada rightly called a member of a Genocide Cartel complicit in the commission of these unforgivable crimes.

It underscores the fact that the way chosen by the Palestinian Resistance is the only way to achieve justice. What are called the democratic institutions are steeped in racism and criminal actions against the peoples who seek their liberation, freedom and control over their own decision-making powers.

Hamas said the "escalating abuse of prisoners, depriving them of their rights, and the continued aggressive policies against them will not break their resolve and iron will."

"The darkness of the prison will soon give way to the dawn of freedom. Our people and resistance remain loyal to the brave prisoners, no matter the cost," Hamas added. Emphasizing that these crimes are "occurring in full view of the world," Hamas called on "the free world, human rights organizations, and international bodies to expose the crimes of this Nazi terrorist enemy against our prisoners and to file lawsuits against its murderous criminal leaders for these horrific violations..."

The movement also called on the families of the prisoners, and "all our people" in the West Bank, "to intensify their support for the heroic prisoners, using every means available and in all fields, to aid and champion their cause."

Canadians and Quebeckers must raise the demand that the government of Canada and all the cartel parties in the Parliament must answer for supporting a regime which commits these crimes and proudly boasts about them. They must not get away with their declarations that Israel has the right to self-defence in the present circumstances. Self-defence can never be a justification for genocide or violations of international humanitarian law. What kind of humanitarian law considers the resistance to such crimes criminal but supports the regime and conditions which permit the commission of such crimes?

The video Israel's "Security Minister" is proudly circulating on X is available below. Beware because it is beyond shocking and distressing, all the more so because the Nazi forces carrying out these crimes think they can use it to break the back of the Palestinian resistance and divert it into abandoning its plan to win liberation by taking up the same spirit of revenge which motivates the Zionists.

This is a national liberation war and the resistance forces comprise a legitimate liberation armed force. One year of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood has once again proven without the shadow of a doubt who the real terrorists and their conciliators are.

Denounce the U.S./Zionist Forces and Their Appeasers Such as the
Government of Canada and Cartel Parties!

Large Amounts of Documentation of Torture

Various international and Palestinian human rights organizations have documented the abuse and torture of detainees inside Israeli prisons, including arbitrary violence, sexual assault, humiliation and degradation, deliberate starvation, forced unhygienic conditions and sleep deprivation.

According to the Israeli B'Tselem rights group, "no less than 60" Palestinian detainees have died in Israeli custody.

In a report titled Welcome to Hell, the organization documented "a systemic, institutional policy focused on the continual abuse and torture of all Palestinian prisoners held by Israel."

In July, a leaked video showed Israeli soldiers sexually assaulting a Palestinian detainee from Gaza in the notorious Sde Teiman Israeli detention centre. The detainee subsequently died of his injuries.

In April the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) documented the release of 1,506 detainees from Gaza by Israeli authorities through the Karem Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom) crossing point with Israel. This included 43 children (39 boys, four girls) and 84 women.

Sexual Violence

UNRWA reported that "Both men and women reported threats and incidents that may amount to sexual violence and harassment" by the Israeli occupiers while in detention.

"Male victims reported beatings to their genitals, while one detainee reported being made to sit on an electrical probe."

"The ill-treatment and abuse against UNRWA staff members as relayed by staff members themselves included severe physical beatings and treatment akin to waterboarding, resulting in extreme physical suffering; beatings by doctors when referred for medical assistance; exposure to and being attacked by dogs; threats of rape and electrocution; threats of violence with guns pointed at them; verbal and psychological abuse; threats of murder, injury or harm to family members; humiliating and degrading treatment; being forced to strip naked and being photographed while they are undressed; and being forced to hold stress positions."

The Zionists do not provide up to date information on how many Palestinians they have captured and hold in detention. At the end of June 2024, the Israel Prison Service (IPS) was holding 9,440 Palestinians in detention or in prison on what it calls "security" grounds. The IOF has its own prisons on top of this.
