Celebration of Fidel Castro’s 90th Birthday

On the occasion of the 90th birthday of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Comrade Fidel Castro on August 13, 2016 the Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist) is presenting the 2014 Cuban film Fidel es Fidel by Roberto Chile with English and French subtitles. Fidel es Fidel features historic moments of Comrade Fidel’s singular leadership in the period from the onset of the retreat of revolution in 1989-90 and increasing U.S. efforts to undermine the Cuban Revolution to the Battle of Ideas and repatriation of Elián González.

The steadfastness of Fidel and the Cuban people shown during that time earned the admiration of the world’s peoples and opened the path for Cuba to renew its socialist development and achieve victories on the diplomatic front, in particular the release of the Cuban Five and the beginning of normalization of relations with the U.S. on December 17, 2014. On the auspicious occasion of the beginning of his 91st year, CPC(M-L) sends its militant revolutionary and communist greetings to Comrade Fidel and to the Cuban people.
