The 136th anniversary of the birth of Ho Chi Minh, the legendary leader of the Vietnamese people, is being marked in Viet Nam with meetings, seminars, photo and art exhibitions and cultural events. People from all walks of life are paying tribute to him at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi.

These events honour the immense contributions of President Ho Chi Minh to Viet Nam’s freedom, while also helping to further promote and educate citizens, state officials and particularly the younger generation about President Ho and to learn from his revolutionary communist life, outlook, morality and lifestyle.

An exhibition marking 80 years since President Ho Chi Minh issued the call for national resistance in 1946 is taking place from May 19 to 23 at the Nghe An-Soviet-Nghe Tinh Museum, as part of the 2026 Sen (Lotus) Village Festival in Nghe An Province in north central Viet Nam, bordering Laos and the Gulf of Tonkin, the President’s ancestral home.

During the month of May, tens of thousands of children and youth visit the Kim Lien Special National Relic Site in Nghe An province to learn about President Ho. This is not left to chance so as to preserve the historical memory of Ho Chi Minh’s legacy and imprint the historical memory of the Vietnam’s struggle to be free from one generation to the next.
