Quebec Marches for Climate Justice
All Out to Humanize the Natural and Social Environment!

Climate marches are being organized across Quebec on September 27 on the occasion of the opening of the Quebec National Assembly on September 30 and the annual convention of the governing party, the Coalition Avenir Québec. The actions are called by Pour la suite du monde. Organizers write that “Governments must take up their responsibilities, implement solutions, and take action for a genuine social and environmental transition.” They are calling on everyone “to take back the power to act on our future! We demand concrete action for social and environmental transition.”
Organizers cite the Northvolt battery plant project (now dead) in Montérégie, the expansion of the Stablex toxic waste dump in Blainville, the privatization of Hydro-Québec, the sale of Quebec’s forests to logging companies, the underfunding of public transit, the third link corridor between Quebec City and Lévis, the violation of workers’ rights, and more, as some examples of the Legault government’s many anti-social decisions, that should be opposed.
All actions are on Saturday, September 27, unless noted otherwise.
