Join picketing against CANSEC as the weapons fair opens, June 1. Say No! to the arms trade, war production, the militarization of life and Canada’s integration with U.S. war production and wars of aggression and regime change. This “weapons fair” glorifies war and Canada’s role in the global arms trade and its own massive increases in military spending in response to U.S. pressure for NATO members to do so.

CANSEC is Canada’s “largest global defence and security trade show.” It is holding its annual gathering of merchants of death on June 1 and 2 in Ottawa. The event is organized by the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI), which is “the voice of more than 800 Canadian Defence and security companies,” including Boeing, General Dynamics and SAAB.

Exhibitors this year include General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada (that makes Light Armoured Vehicles used against the people of Yemen), L3Harris Technologies (now bidding to sell armed drones to Canada) and Lockheed Martin Canada (the world’s largest military contractor now in negotiations to sell F-35 warplanes to Canada).
