Dear Comrade Kim Jong Un,
On the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung, the Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist) joins with you and with the Workers’ Party of Korea and the Korean people in their jubilant celebration of the Day of the Sun.
The celebration of the historic feats of President Kim Il Sung, the leader and driving force of the Korean revolution, is of great significance to strengthen the unity of the people around the nation-building project he initiated and continues to inspire. This project puts the people’s well-being and ability to flourish as remarkable human beings at the centre of its concerns. It is to this cause that President Kim Il Sung dedicated his efforts when he led the battle to liberate Korea from the brutal yoke of Japanese occupation and subsequent U.S. aggression under the banner of the United Nations in which Canada participated.
President Kim Il Sung’s leadership, organizing skills and theoretical guidance were decisive at every turn — from the time he founded and led the Down with Imperialism Union in his teens, organized and led the armed resistance of the Korean people in defeating the Japanese military occupiers of Korea, founded the Workers’ Party of Korea, as well as mobilizing the people under the Korean People’s Army to defeat the U.S./UN aggressors during the Fatherland Liberation War. It is very important for the current and coming generations of leaders to learn about and appreciate the significance of these and other monumental achievements.
At a time when many great challenges face the DPRK and humanity itself, whether it be the stepped up brinkmanship and warmongering of the U.S. imperialists and their refusal to sign a permanent peace treaty with the DPRK, or the threats posed to the natural and social environments as a result of the plunder, spoilation and degradation of human life by the financial oligarchs for whom no crime is too much, it is more important than ever for working people and the youth in all the countries of the world to uphold the sacred cause of peace and affirm their right to be. In this regard, President Kim Il Sung’s life and legacy inspire us as we strive to create a world free of imperialist exploitation and war.
On the occasion of this milestone anniversary, we send you and, through you to the Workers’ Party of Korea and all Korean people, our militant revolutionary greetings. We are confident the DPRK will achieve further successes on all the fronts it has set for itself because it upholds, treasures and learns from the legacy of President Kim Il Sung, the great leader who our Party’s leader Comrade Hardial Bains was fortunate to meet, exchange with and learn from in 1992.
With communist greetings and best wishes for the success of all your endeavors,
Anna Di Carlo
National Leader
Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist)
