Toronto Pickets Against U.S. War Preparations
on Korean Peninsula
U.S. Hands Off Korea! Join In!
April 12, 2017 picket across from U.S. Consulate, Toronto.
Stepped up U.S. aggression under the Trump administration has created a tense situation on the Korean Peninsula. The U.S./south Korean military recently concluded their two-month long annual and illegal war exercises Key Resolve/Foal Eagle against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) with live drills involving more than 330,000 U.S. and south Korean troops. The DPRK reiterates its longstanding demand for the U.S. to sign a peace treaty to formally end the Korean War and remove foreign troops from the Korean Peninsula. The Trump administration has moved quickly to install Terminal High Altitude Area Defence (THAAD) missile batteries in south Korea against the opposition and ongoing protests of the Korean people in the north and south. Join in Toronto pickets to demand U.S. troops out and the peaceful resolution of conflicts respecting the sovereignty of the Korean people.
